MOUNTAIN WEATHER FORECAST

Time and Day: 0630 Friday

See Dan's pit post below.  With warmer wetter weather on the way, the avalanche potential will increase. 

The Snapshot:  Cold and dry again today with a change to a warmer and wetter weather starting tomorrow and lasting through most of next week.

The Science:  11degress   with some broken mid-level clouds hanging around this morning.  Today will be the coldest day with warmer air and moisture beginning to invade tomorrow.   

The jet stream will begin to shift towards the PNW over the next few days.  This will usher in warmer air and a series of storms starting on Sunday.  Light snow will begin tomorrow night and intensify on Sunday. Freezing levels will have to be watched closely as they quickly rise to +- 4000’ with these next few storms.

The Long Range:  Several fronts will form as this system matures through the weekend.   Heavy snow with a chance of mixed rain can be expected on Monday and then again on Tuesday/Wednesday.  Active weather will continue through the end of the week.

Dry today with light snow beginning tomorrow night.
