Stevens Pass Mountain Weather
Forecast
Day and Time: Wednesday, 1:00 pm
The Snapshot:
Dry today and tomorrow with a now decreasing
chance of rain on Friday. The weekend will trend dry with daytime temperatures
peaking in the upper 40’s or even lower 50’s.
Current Observations: .10” of water with 1-3” of snow fell overnight. The temperature is 31f, and the winds are
light and out of the east. The barometer is currently
1015mb’s and on the rise. There is a thin layer of clouds currently over the
Pass.
The Science: The atmosphere will stabilize and dry out as the
barometric pressure increases today. A thin,
mid-level stratus cloud deck has moved in which will insulate and thus slow
down the snow melting process for the remainder of the day. Some weak disturbance riding up and over the
offshore high pressure will continue to bring in mixed layers of clouds today
and tomorrow.
The Forecast: The winds will be light and easterly today with temperatures
peaking in the lower 40’s. Hit repeat
for tomorrow. Models now have Friday’s system
tracking south of Stevens Pass, so the chance of wetting rain on Friday is
decreasing. Most of the snow will likely
be melted off by tomorrow.
The Long Range: The high pressure system dominating the
offshore weather will bring mostly dry weather to the PNW over the
weekend. Next week looks like a mixed
bag of rain/snow showers and clear periods – fairly typical weather pattern for
this time of year.
