MOUNTAIN WEATHER FORECAST

Day and Time: 2:00pm Monday

Current Observations:
Precipitation: light rain
Pass temperature: 42f
Winds: westerly 0-5 mph
Barometer:  1014mb and falling
Sky:  Overcast with patch fog
Radar: A line of showers moving south along the Cascade crest.

The Snapshot:  Periodic rain showers today with the rest of the week trending dry and sunny.   This could be an “Indian Summer” stretch of weather ahead.

The Science: These intermittent mountain rain showers are due to a weak low pressure trough tracking SSE through the mountains today.  A large high pressure system will slide into place tomorrow which will bring a prolonged period of beautiful dry fall weather to the PNW.

The Forecast: The rain is expected to diminish through the day tomorrow.  A clearing trend will begin tomorrow night with the remainder of the week being mostly sunny.  Daytime temperatures will climb into upper 40’s or lower 50’s as the week progresses.   Early morning low temperatures will struggle to hit freezing.

The Long Range:  This dry stretch of weather is expected to last through the upcoming weekend and maybe even into next week.
