MOUNTAIN WEATHER FORECAST

Stevens Pass Mountain Weather Forecast
Day and Time:  Thursday, high noon.

Current Observations:
Precipitation:  0
Pass temperature: 46
Winds: 0-5 W
Barometer:  1018mb and rising
Sky:  Clearing with high cirrus clouds
Radar: Dry

The Snapshot:  Frosty mornings with warm sunny days will grace the Cascade Mountains for the next +-7 days – get outside!

Seattle and Wenatchee could see temperature hit 70’s this weekend.  Enjoy.

The Science: A large high pressure system will settle over the PNW for stretch of dry and clear weather.  There is a slight chance of a weak low pressure trough making it through for some cloud cover tomorrow night.

The high pressure will strengthen over the weekend with daytime temperatures peaking in the mid to upper 50’s.   With the shorter days and clear nights early morning temperatures will drop to or just below freezing.  East flow at Pass level will develop this weekend which will aid in some cooler early morning temperatures.  This high pressure ridge is expected to dominate the weather pattern through the middle of next week.

The Forecast:  Mostly dry and clear weather is expected through at least the middle of next week.  Day time temperatures will peak in the mid to upper 50’s while early morning temperatures are expected to hit near freezing.

The Long Range: There are some early indications of the high pressure breaking down on Thursday of next week which will open the door for some change -  maybe.
