The Science: The Puget Sound Convergence Zone kicked in this morning creating an impressive period of heavy rain and thunderstorms.  A cold front moved east of the crest just after 8am this morning; this brought an end to the heavy precipitation and is now providing some sun breaks and few degrees cooler.

The atmosphere will remain unstable through the night with light rain showers and partial clearing continuing.  A triple point frontal system developing offshore will arrive tomorrow afternoon with another round of moderate to heavy precipitation for the mountains.

Cool NW flow is expected to develop Sunday evening.  There are no major storms expected with this cooler airmass.  However, the atmosphere will remain unstable which will allow light snow showers to persist.
