The Forecast:  The Mountains will enjoy clear, cold, sunny weather today.  The temperatures will be bit colder with fewer clouds.  Tap repeat for tomorrow and Thursday.

Long Range: Clouds and warmer temperatures begin to move in on Friday with snow likely over the weekend.  As of now, it looks like the snow will hold off until early Sunday morning, but continue through the first half of next week.

The Science:   The high pressure parked over the inland NW will persist through the end of the week.  Humidity associated with the cold temperatures in the eastern basin will begin to lower today which will help dry out and break up the inversion layer.

Strong off shore flow will continue to keep any incoming energy at bay until Friday.  Long range models are still in agreement that the high pressure will begin to weaken and be pushed to the east starting on Friday.  Timing of the incoming moisture is still in questions, but as of today, snow will be in the discussion by the weekend.

 4am tomorrow.
