The Forecast: Cloudy with light rain ending midday
today, dry and mild Tuesday with rain beginning late afternoon.
The Science:
Weak NW flow aloft is driving warmer air and light rain showers across
Washington. A transitory short wave ridge will cross the area Monday afternoon
and Tuesday for mild weather and potentially some clearing. Zonal flow to our
north Tuesday night brings the next weather system to our area, but freezing
levels continue to look above pass level. Moderate precip, likely rain, will
fall Tuesday night and Wednesday with light snow possible at the tail end of
the event on Wednesday.
Long
Range: Thursday looks
mostly dry, a low pressure system is slated to approach our region on Friday
and Saturday with more favorable freezing levels, stay tuned for details.
Confidence: Good thru Tuesday night, poor for
Wednesday forward.
Values from 4am today through 4am tomorrow.
