3/10/2008 Weather Discussion: Very light rain should stick around for most of the day. A cold front is expected to arrive later tonight which will bring snow and windy conditions for most of tomorrow. Long-term models show a short lived high pressure ridge producing a dry day on Wednesday with another system tracking up from the south on Thursday. Forecast from Monday 4pm to Tuesday 4am Precipitation .5 in. Water 3-5 in. Snow Temperatures Low 30 High 45 Winds 5-10 SW Forecast for Tuesday 4am to 4pm Precipitation .5 -.75 in. Water 4-8 in. Snow Temperatures Low 26 High 30 Winds 10-20 W TRENDS AND TIMING Precipitation: The first band of moisture ETA is after 4pm today. This could start out as rain but should turn to snow around midnight. Snow is expected to slowly intensify over night with a better chance of accumulation after 4am. Snow will slowly taper off by 4am Wednesday. Freezing levels: Freezing levels could bump up to 6K today before they start to fall. Freezing levels should be below pass level by midnight. They are expected to continue to fall through tomorrow reaching 2000’ by evening. The rest of the week should remain cool. Winds: Gusty SW frontal winds will accompany tonight cold front. Wind should continue to swing W overnight creating conditions for a Puget Sound Convergence- could see some gust to 40mph tomorrow as the front moves east. Winds should taper after 4pm tomorrow.
