3/28/08 WEATHER

3/28/2008 Weather Discussion: Snow with unseasonable cool temps will to continue in the mountains until Sunday morning. Long-term models show spring making a go-at-it next week. High pressure developing off the coast should move over the PNW by early next week. This should provide a dry start for the end of our season. Forecast from Friday 4pm to Saturday 4am Precipitation .5 in. Water 4-6 in. Snow Temperatures Low 20 High 28 Winds 0-5 E Forecast for Saturday 4am to 4pm Precipitation .25 in. Water 2-4 in. Snow Temperatures Low 20 High 30 Winds 0-10 WNW TRENDS AND TIMING Precipitation: Steady light snow should continue through tomorrow. Snow will slowly change to showers and then taper off all together on Sunday. Freezing levels: Freezing levels will remain below 2000’ through the weekend. We will probable see surface temps rise due to the normal daytime warming (diurnal warming for those weather/snow geeks) but for the most part temps should be low until early next week. Winds: East flow will hold steady until after 4pm tomorrow morning. A W then NW shift will occur through tomorrow. No big wind events showing up on the radar at this time. jdm
