4/9/2008 Weather Discussion: A band of moisture will pass through the mountains tonight bringing one more round of snow before high pressure sets in tomorrow evening. Long-term models brings spring back once again as warm sunny weather moves in for the last weekend of the season. Nice! Forecast from Wednesday 4pm to Thursday 4am Precipitation .25 in. Water 1-3 in. Snow Temperatures Low 22 High 34 Winds 5-10 W Gust 20 Forecast for Thursday 4am to 4pm Precipitation .10 in. Water 0-2 in. Snow Temperatures Low 24 High 38 Winds 5-10 W gusty TRENDS AND TIMING Precipitation: Snow should develop after 4pm today and continue through the night. Snow will taper off through tomorrow as high pressure develops. Dry on Friday. Freezing levels: Freezing levels will slowly rise from 2000’ this morning and eventually make it to pass level by tomorrow afternoon. We can expect very high freezing levels for Friday – could reach as high as 7000+ feet with even warmer sun driven surface temps. Winds: Winds will remain light today. The approaching front will bring westerly wind speeds up a notch as a short lived convergence zone develops in the early morning hours. Could see wind gust in the 20mph range tomorrow morning.
