MOUNTAIN WEATHER FORECAST


Time and Day: 0900 Tuesday
 
The Snapshot: The precipitation will end today temperatures will drop and winds will be out of the north.
 
The Science: A strong cold front passed over the Cascades early this morning.  This will allow a cold and dry atmosphere to settle over the PNW.  High pressure will slowly drift east over the inland NW producing chilly nights and sunny days for the remainder of the week.  
 
4-7day Long Range: The weekend will continue to be dry and cool.  The next chance of snow or rain will be early next week. 
 
 
24hr Accumulative Precipitation Totals Starting at Noon Today:
 
Water by 4am = lt.10 Snow equivalent = trace
 
Total inches of water by noon tomorrow = .10
Total inches of snow by noon tomorrow = trace
 
Trend and Timing:
 
An inch or two of additional snow may be possible this morning as moderate showers persist.  Dry conditions will develop this afternoon with no precipitation expected for the rest of the week.

Trend and Timing:   
 
Temperatures will sharply fall tonight with lows in the teens by early tomorrow morning. Daytime temperatures should rebound into the 20’s during the day. Depending on how much clearing occurs night time temps could dip into the single digits.

Trend and Timing:
 
Winds will shift NW today then north tonight.  Light cool NE flow will be the norm for the rest of the week.
