MOUNTAIN WEATHER FORECAST

Time and Day: 1:00pm Wednesday

The Snapshot: Rain developing tonight and continuing tomorrow.  Drying trend with clearing begins on Friday.

The Science: There is a warm front approaching the mountains this afternoon with a cold front in tow.  Therefore expect rain tonight with a possible mixed rain/snow event tomorrow.  Gusty westerly winds will accompany tomorrow cold front to make thing interesting.  High pressure begins to build tomorrow night for a weather pattern change of cool and dry.

4-7day Long Range:   Friday and Saturday will be partly clear and dry.  Models have the high-pressure stalling offshore over the weekend; this may allow a quick moving front to pass through on Sunday.  It is possible to get a little snow fromt his system.    The high-pressure rebounds on Monday for a cool, dry start to the work week.

Water = .25-.5   Snow = 0

Trend and Timing:
Rain will reach the Cascades this afternoon and fall through the night.   A brief dry period is expected tomorrow morning with another band of moisture reaching the Pass around mid morning.

Freezing levels will continue to climb tonight.   Freezing levels will fall tomorrow afternoon reaching 4500’ early Friday morning.

Trend and Timing:
East flow will continue through the night.  Gusty westerly winds will accompany the passing of tomorrow’ cold front.
