MOUNTAIN WEATHER FORECAST

Time and Day: Thursday 11/6/14

The Snapshot:  Sporty weather today with strong winds and more precipitation.  Clearing and dry conditions can be anticipated tomorrow and Saturday.

The Science: After a brief break in the action this morning a fast moving cold front will sweep through the state.  Strong westerly winds have developed ahead of this front with 50+knot winds currently pounding the coast.  Winds will shift from SW to W as the front approaches the mountains.   Once the front moves to the east, the wind and rain will quickly diminish.  High pressure begins to build tonight to set up clear and dry weather for the next few days.  Cool air will arrive from the north dropping freezing levels to +-4000.’
