Time and Day: 0900 Saturday
The Snapshot: This very complex weather system will continue to
bring a mixed bag of snow and rain to Stevens Pass into next week.
The Science: A weak cold front that is slowly passing over
the mountains this morning, has temporarily lowered the freezing levels to
around 4000’. An elongated SW oriented
low-pressure system developing behind the front will push freezing levels back up
and begin to break up the flow of moisture later today. Cold air arrives tomorrow morning with a
short period of moderate snow changing to snow showers. The weak Puget Sound Convergence zone is
expected to develop tomorrow that will help intensify snow showers.
Long
Range: The
show starts all over on Monday with snow changing to rain and then back to snow
on Tuesday. A cooler and drier weather pattern
will end the week.
