Time and Day: 0900 Sunday
The Snapshot: Snow switching to
intermittent showers today, snow turning to rain tomorrow night, rain on
Tuesday, snow Wednesday.
The Science: A cold and drier air mass is flowing in from
the NW today. This will lower freezing levels to around 2500’ and begin to break
up the moisture stream to moderate snow showers.
A weak convergence zone aimed at Stevens Pass will keep snow showers in
the mix through tomorrow morning.
A strong warm front with high winds will push into the cold air mass
tomorrow afternoon with heavy snow to start but then changing to rain through
the night. Freezing levels will rise to
+-6500’ Tuesday morning with rain through the day. Another push of cold air arrives Tuesday
night changing the rain back to snow. Models differ on the snow amounts on the back
end of Tuesdays storm, more on that tomorrow.
Long
Range: Next week will end with more systems currently
tracking south of Stevens Pass, these storms should spin some snow showers
north Wednesday and then again on Friday/Saturday.
