MOUNTAIN WEATHER FORECAST

Time and Day: 0830 Monday

The Snapshot:  This nice snow will taper off today; mostly dry for the rest of the week. The snow vs. rain game starts again next weekend.

The Science:   The Puget Sound Convergence zone, producing these snow showers will weaken today.  Cooler northerly flow aloft will begin to dry and stabilize the atmosphere this afternoon, bringing an end to the precipitation.  Except for few weak disturbances producing some light snow showers, the rest of the week will be mostly dry with partial clearing.

Long Range:   Another frontal system developing later this week could bring another round of rain/snow for the upcoming weekend.

Today’s 24hr Water = <.25   Snow =  1-2 

Tomorrow’s 24hr Water = lt .10th   Snow = trace

Trend and Timing:
The precipitation will slowly diminish today with just light showers lingering into tonight.

Low:  24  High: 36
Freezing level: 3500’ – 4500’

Trends and Timing:
Freezing levels will hover near 4000’ for the next few days.

Base: 0-10 WNW
Ridge Top: 5-10 NNW  

Trend and Timing:
Light northerly flow aloft with WNW surface winds will be the pattern for most of the week.
