MOUNTAIN WEATHER FORECAST

Time and Day: 0800 Wednesday

The Snapshot:  Morning fog with high clouds today.  Light snow tomorrow, dry Friday, rain on Saturday.

The Science:  A high-pressure ridge will bring mostly dry weather to the Cascade Mountains today. A weak disturbance between pressure ridges will produce some light snow tomorrow morning.  The next ridge will drift over the mountain on Friday for another dry and partly cloudy day.   

Long Range: A warm front will bring rain to Stevens Pass on Saturday.  A cold front swings through on Sunday, dropping freezing levels to 4000’ or so.  The precipitation will switch to showers and taper off behind Sunday’s cold front.  No significant snow accumulation is expected with this system.  Monday will be mostly dry with another frontal system (with potential snow) expected on Tuesday.

Light snow will begin after midnight tonight.

Cool morning temperatures will slowing rising freezing levels is expected for the remainder of the week.
