MOUNTAIN WEATHER FORECAST

Time and Day: 0800 Thursday 

The Snapshot:  Snow showers will persist into Saturday morning.   

The Science

Current Observations: 5” of new snow is on the ground, the temperature is 30f, the Rh = 94%, the barometer is 999mb and holding steady, the wind is light and out of the SSW.  

Cool NW flow will keep snow shower persistent through the end of the week and possibly into Saturday morning.  

The Long Range:  A short dry period will develop on Saturday with heavy snow possibly changing to rain on Sunday.  Long range models have next week to being rainy with high freezing levels.

Tomorrow’s 24hr water:.25-.5  snow: 2-5

Trend and Timing:
Snow showers will persist today and tomorrow.   A weak convergence zone could enhance some of the shower intensity from time to time.

Freezing level: 4000' - 3000'

Trend and Timing: 
Temperatures will fall through the day with freezing levels dropping to or below 3000’ on Friday morning.
