MOUNTAIN WEATHER FORECAST



Stevens Pass Mountain Weather Forecast

The Snapshot:  Diminishing snow showers today.  Dry, warm days with crisp cool nights can be anticipated for the remainder of the week.
 
Current Observations:
Precipitation:  .48” of water with +-5” of snow fell overnight.  
Pass temperature: 33
Winds: 5-10 W
Barometer: 1016mb’s and holding
Sky: morning fog with patchy mid level clouds.
Radar:  There is a band of showers in the Snohomish Convergence zone moving SW.   

The Forecast:  Intermittent snow showers will slowly diminish today.  Clearing will begin tonight with sunny weather expected tomorrow and Thursday.  

Long Range: A weak disturbance will brush the NW corner of the State on Friday which will provide some high clouds over Stevens Pass. For the most part, expect dry and sunny weather to continue through the weekend.
   
The Science:  NW flow will persist for the next 24hrs.  Barometric pressure will begin to rise as the high pressure system tracks north over the next 24-36hrs.  A warmer airmass will accompany the high pressure cell.  Day time temperatures will peak in the mid 40’s with early morning lows in the mid 20’s.  Good night time heat release can be expected with the clear skies.
