Stevens Pass Mountain Weather Forecast
Wednesday, November 7th
The Snapshot: Clear, dry, and warming temps expected the next two days.
Current Observations:
Precipitation: .19” of water with a trace of snow during the day yesterday. No additional snow overnight.
Pass temperature: 32
Winds: Calm
Barometer: 1021mb’s and rising
Sky: Mostly cloudy with mid-level stratus at the Cascade Crest
Radar: Showing very light rain and patchy fog west of the crest, no precipitation is indicated over the Cascades or east of the crest.
The Forecast: Clearing skies today with calm winds. A pleasant, sunny afternoon is in store for Stevens Pass.
Long Range: A quick moving shortwave trough will transit the area Friday, bringing a brief return to cloudy skies and precipitation. A few inches of snow are possible at pass level by Saturday morning. Sunny, dry, and unseasonably warm for the weekend.
The Science: Friday's trough/front moves through in NW flow aloft riding over the high pressure ridge. Beginning Saturday, the Euro and GFS models are in agreement building a high amplitude ridge extending beyond the Pacific Northwest and up to SE Alaska that will deliver warm and calm days. This ridge looks to break down by the middle of next week, opening the door to zonal flow and hopefully more seasonable Pacific storms.
