Stevens Pass Mountain Weather
Forecast
Monday, 11/11/2019 - 0800
Current Observations:
24hr Precipitation: 0
Temperature profile: 31base, 29ridge
Pass level winds: Light
easterly
Barometer: 1026mb’s
and holding
Sky: high cirrus clouds
Radar:
Offshore flow with light rain falling in the Strait of Juan De Fuca.
The Forecast: Dry today with increasing clouds, light rain tomorrow.
Long Range:
Wednesday and Thursday will be mostly dry with some light rain showers possible. The weather pattern turns wet and more
progressive on Friday.
The Science: The weakening high pressure ridge stationed
over the PNW will struggle to hold off the approaching moisture. A weakening cold front will sag south over
the next 24hrs bringing light rain to the Pass and a dusting of snow for the alpine. Winds will be finicky as pressure gradients
tighten along the crest. Freezing levels
will be generally above Pass level through the weekend- so no significant snow
accumulation expected below 5000’.
The good news is that the pattern is changing to a more progressive W/ NW
flow pattern over the next 7-10 days. Time will tell on what that will bring.
Confidence: High for short term, moderate
for long range.
Values from
4am today through
4am tomorrow.
